1st Year Reflection
Term 4, Week 4
November 8th, 2024
Learning Intention: Reflect on your first year of high school.
Success Criteria
I have celebrated something about my first year at high school.
Do Now
Update your Te Arawhata Log for any absences or lates that you had this week.
Learning Tasks
Each member of the class writes a 'memory that sticks' onto their section of the catcus, which should also be decorated. Then, share these memories as it is attached to the 2024 catcus.
Mahi Choice - Pick one of the following activities. If you finish early, then start another one.
Colour in and write a thank you card for one of your teachers or a friend to show your gratitude for their support in your first y ear of high school.
Colour in and write a letter to a new year 9 student that will be joining Edgewater College next year to share you experience and advice.
Take a piece of refill and write a letter to your future Year 13 self as a time capsule activity that you will be able to read at the end of your high school career.
Teacher Notes
Task 1 - Designed to be printed as is and will result in 24 catcus pieces that can be attached. Suggested that you print in colour and use as classroom decoration.
Mahi Choice
It is recommended that you collect the year 9 letters and future self letters so you can return to students at the right time. The Year 9 Letters can be returned at the start of next year so your mentor student can give it to a new year 9 friend that they make. The year 13 letter you will hold onto to give to your mentee when they leave EC. If you are no longer their mentor teacher, please pass it on.
