Teacher Notes
For the Do Now, the idea is that students not only get an introduction, but also realize that there are similarities between cultures and religions to help realize there are shared commonalities. For example, a few weeks ago we did a lesson on Lunar New Year, and like Ramadan, the calendar is based off of the moon cycles. Another important part of Ramadan is the fasting, which is similar to Christian cultures who often give up something for lent or Catholics who don't eat meat on Fridays.
@mehdinatv is a good account to follow - "We are an interracial couple trying to break stereotypes on Niqabis (veiled women) and Muslims in general."
Note that the suncatcher will required coloured tissue paper.
