Lesson 4
Onion Slides
Whāinga/Learning Intention: Create an onion slide, focus it under a microscope and photograph it.
Paearu Angitu/Success Critera
4. I can create an onion slide, focus it under the microscope and take a picture of it.
Mahi Ako/Learning Tasks
If absent, watch the video recording explaining how to make an onion slide.
Create your own onion slide and get it check off by Ms Garlick to start your portfolio of evidence.
Place your slide under the microscope and focus it. Take a photo and insert into the shared Google Doc. From that photo, also create a cropped version of what you will be drawing. Here is an example of what should be on the Google Doc.
Unfortunately, there is no way to practice using a microscope remotely, so if you are absent, just work on the transfer table and make sure to schedule time with Ms Garlick or Ms Quigley to have some time with the microscopes.
Mahi Kāinga/Homework: Finish the homework from Lesson 2 ("Cell Organelle Information Transfer Table")
