Educational scientific research suggests that doing some pre-learning before the teaching helps support learning when the teacher is explaining things, so giving that a try.
Students aren't expected to complete all those SciPad pages before the notes and don't need to finish all the SciPad pages after. It's there to allow them to do some pre-learning and check their understanding. They can always finish off those pages later in the year closer to the exam as review.
