Just the Achieved
Organic can be quiet challenging because its questions doesn't fall into nice categories like thermochemistry and you have to know ALL the material to be able to attempt the questions since it's all interlinked. Decoding the questions is also very challenging that many students just leave things blank because they know know where to start.
Here are my tips to ensure that you pass.
Need to be able to identify functional groups (Quizlet Here to practice that)
Need to be able to name and draw organic molecules (Collated Questions from No Brain Too Small with their naming guide and Lesson 2 when I taught this)
Need to have your identification tests and conversions memorized (Quizlet Version 1, Quizlet Version 2, No Brain Too Small Identification Flash Cards, No Brain Too Small Conversion Flash Cards)
The first and last points are really important in order to decode any of the questions.
I have gone through the 3 past exams on NZQA and looked at the achieved requirements and summarized them in this PDF. Below, I have included three videos, one for each one of the 2023 exam question so you can see how to decode the questions with what you now know.
