Week 4

Lockdown Work

(18/8-20/8)

Hi 10/6 Science! The main thing I want you to focus on for the remainder of the week is that you understand how current and voltage is behaving in series and parallel circuits.  The PHET website has been linked so you can continue to play with circuits to learn this material.

First...

Make sure you understand the material that we've covered so far with current in series, current in parallel, and voltage in series. Here are the worksheets and scans of the SciPad pages.

Current in Series

Current in Parallel

Voltage in Series

Then...

Explore how voltage behaves in a parallel circuit be completed the Voltage in Parallel Google Doc that has been assigned to you on Google Classroom so you each have a copy.

Then work on answering the questions on SciPad pages 82-83. (ANSWERS). A Google Doc has been created to provide you those pages and a space for you to type your answers.

Don't forget that you have Education Perfect homework that's due at the end of this week.

Lastly...

Reflect on how well you understand circuits, current, and voltage by completing the "CPR" Quiz #1 - Circuits on Google Docs. Once again, that has been assigned to you on Google Classroom so you each have a copy.

Here are the answers to the quiz

By the end of this week, you should be able to do the following items from the Checklist.

Take a moment to think about where you are with that material using Selwise.

6E1: DISCUSS the differences between current and voltage.

6M2: EXPLAIN how current and voltage are measured in a circuit.

6A1: DESCRIBE the relationship between current and bulb brightness.

6A2: DESCRIBE the relationship between voltage and bulb brightness.

5E1: COMPARE, CONTRAST and EVALUATE two-bulb series and parallel circuits.

5M2: DRAW circuit diagrams for specific functions (and assemble them).

5A1: LIST everyday applications of series and parallel circuits.

5A2: DESCRIBE the effect of removing a bulb in series and parallel circuits.
